Tonya Koeppe & Matthew Schuette
Our Story
Matt and I met in high school through mutual friends. I guess you could say we were an unlikely match, considering one particular incident...
That was quickly overlooked, however, as we met up again after high school and began dating. This was in December of 2001. Matt was going to be moving out of state the following January and we didn't know if our relationship would survive the distance. Well, it did! In fact, I joined him that first Summer in Kentucky so we could be closer together. We both came back to Wisconsin that Fall and continued our relationship. After six years of dating Matt proposed to me! Saturday, December 22nd, 2007 he told me he had an early Christmas present for me. He told me to close my eyes and listen. What I heard was music playing...when I listened closer I realized it was the 'Wedding March" and I opened my eyes. In front of me, Matt was on his knee with a beautiful ring held out to me. I said YES before even looking at the ring! It took us some time after that to decide on a date and location for our wedding. We finally agreed that we'd go to Mexico over Spring Break to say "I Do"!
Our Wedding
We will be married on Tuesday, March 30th 2010, at 4:30pm in a beautiful gazebo at the El Dorado Royale Spa Resort in Riviera Maya, Mexico. We will be joined by 14 wonderful family members and friends. Rachel Mecca will be the Matron of Honor and Marc Mecca will be the Best Man. After the exchange of rings, we will commemorate our marriage through the celebration of the "Sand Ceremony". A wedding reception will immediately follow, at the resort.
Our Reception
Following the wedding ceremony, we will be joined by our guests at 6:30pm at the El Cocotal Restaurant for an elegant dinner. Beginning at 9:00pm we will be entertained at our own private cocktail party at the Tucanes Bar & Pool. There will be hors d'oeuvres, cocktails and the wedding cake, along with music and dancing. To end the evening, we will visit Guacamayas Bar for live entertainment.
A Special Message From Us
We are both very anxious and excited to celebrate our marriage in Mexico. We want to thank all of our friends and family for their support and love. We are especially grateful for all the people who will be joining us on this special trip!
Love, Tonya and Matt
